About Jackson Museum School
Jackson Museum School (K–6) is an innovative, tuition-free public charter school opening Fall 2026 in Jackson, Tennessee. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and strong literacy skills through museum-based learning—prioritizing academic excellence and shaping engaged, empowered problem solvers.
At Jackson Museum School, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Students explore real-world concepts through hands-on inquiry, arts integration, project-based learning, and rich community and cultural partnerships across West Tennessee. Weekly to biweekly learning expeditions and exhibition nights allow students to investigate compelling questions, create meaningful work, and present their learning with confidence.
Our approach emphasizes whole-child development—ensuring every student feels known, valued, and supported. We are committed to welcoming all children, providing access to high-quality instruction, and building a joyful, inclusive school community.
Founded by Dr. Jean Little and a grassroots team of Jackson-area educators, families, and community leaders, Jackson Museum School is designed to spark imagination, nurture independent thinkers, and prepare young learners for a lifetime of discovery and success.
