The first event in the series is scheduled for September 22\, featuring Deputy Commissioner Greer Tidwell from the Department of Environment and Conservation.\n\nWhile Commissioner Salyers was originally slated to join us\, regrettably\, surgery prevents him from attending.\n\nA strong economy and greater prosperity requires a clean\, healthy environment and\, in turn\, attracts people\, companies and organizations that believe in both. This virtuous cycle is supporting Tennessee's economic growth\, environmental protection\, conservation enhancement and increasing quality of life. \n\nDeputy Commissioner Tidwell will share how TDEC and Governor Lee's conservation strategies are contributing to this reality for our state and this region\, including:\n\n\n	Making historic levels of investment in the Tennessee State Park system\, including opening a new lodge at Paris Landing\, establishing new Middle Fork Bottoms State Park in Madison County and developing plans for new lodge at Natchez Trace State Park\;\n	Accelerating brownfield cleanup\, reclamation and economic redevelopment in communities across Tennessee through initiatives like the landmark Rural Brownfield Redevelopment Act of 2023\n	Providing unprecedented investment in community water infrastructure that addresses long-standing needs\, delivers operational improvements and enables better service for customers.
